About Seedledge
Seedledge is an independent editorial guide to multiplying plants at home — saving seeds, taking cuttings, storing bulbs and regrowing kitchen scraps.
What we publish
Seedledge answers focused, practical questions about growing more from the plants you already have: whether a seed will come true, how long seed keeps, where exactly to cut a stem, and how to store bulbs so they survive the winter. We write about methods and timing, and we do not sell seeds or plants.
How we research each guide
Every guide starts with one real growing question. We compare horticultural and extension guidance — including the RHS, the organic-growing charity Garden Organic, and seed-saving organisations — and we list those sources on the page.
When a reliable figure exists, we give it with its conditions and say what it assumes. When the answer depends on your climate, variety or timing, we say so rather than presenting one number as universal.
Who writes the guides
Seedledge is an independent editorial desk. Guides are researched and edited in-house and published under the Seedledge Editorial byline rather than a personal name, because we do not want to imply credentials or hands-on experience that we do not have.
We do not publish invented author biographies or invented credentials. If we later add a named contributor, their page will state what they actually do.
Corrections and feedback
Growing guidance changes with research, and climates differ. If you spot a broken source or an unclear step, email the page title and a short description, and we will review it. When a correction changes the advice, we update the page and its date.
Our boundaries
- We do not give medical or poisoning advice; if a person or animal may have eaten a plant, contact a qualified professional.
- We do not provide pesticide or fungicide mixing instructions; follow product labels.
- We do not guarantee that saved seed will come true or that a cutting will root.
